Ice Princess Wig and Crown

If you have a little girl in your house I'm sure she's just as in love with Frozen as my almost 5 year old. She loves singing "Let It go" and giving warm hugs! So with all the Frozen fun we'll be planning a Frozen themed 5th birthday later in May.  I got a head start by making her a wig and crown! I didn't follow this pattern exactly but I drew inspiration from Stitch 11's Princess Hat and Princess Crown free patterns. They should guide you along just fine to make your princess a special set!

For my hat I choose a basic hdc beanie. For a different look I added a Reverse Single Crochet edging. Then I added a very long, thick braid along 1/4 of the base of the hat.

The Tiara I decided to make separate so she would have it without the wig if she wanted! I still want to add some glittery snowflake buttons on the braid, but they seem to have melted!
I cannot find them! ;)

She loves her hat and enjoyed smiling and dancing for the camera!
Now to plan the rest of the outfit! I'm pretty sure a Tutu is in order!

Platypus Birthday Party Ideas

My son's b-day was Tuesday but his party was last night! I'm not a great cook/baker but I made an attempt to bake a Perry The Platypus cake he picked out!

Little sister was lots of help and we had fun. I think she just did it for the frosting!

Whether I'm a good baker or not the cake was a hit and he loved it. That's what matters to me!

I found a lot of neat party ideas online! I'll share these links below!

Birthday Interview
This was fun and I'm saving his answers and will try to do it every year to see how he changes.

Butterfly's, Sock Monkey's and Mice

I finally finished up a much requested pattern for my new Cuddle Critter Cape Sets. Our newest is the Butterfly. She is just darling! Here are two examples but I have so many more ideas and possibilities for her.

This was my 1st. I went for a really girly butterfly with the pinks and purples.

This 2nd one is designed to resemble a Monarch. I just love how it turned out.
There aren't any wires or anything for the wings but the design of the wings gives it a curves shape so they shouldn't lay flat on the baby.

This next pattern is inspired my mom over at Posh Pooch Designs. She's been on a sock monkey craze! She has tons of sock money patterns you have to check them out! Here patterns are currently only available in Ravelry because she is moving from Oklahoma to Colorado this week. I sure will miss her being only an 1h 45 min away

This last collage is a sneak peak! This is the next set of capes I've designed. I wasn't going to get into "Characters" just because of Copywrites but my Photographer mentioned Minnie and Mickey to me so I thought I'd do it special for her because of the fabulous photos she's been sending me of my products! We'll just call these Cartoon Mice Inspired. ;) I'll be working on the patterns this week and Mickey and Minnie will come together in one pattern.

As always you can find these patterns on Ravelry for an instant download or in my Etsy shop
