What I've been working on!

Wow it's only been almost a month since my last blog post! I've been very busy! Working on orders a few side project and working on me!

I'm down 22 pounds and I'm so excited about this journey! I've been working out almost everyday and food journaling. I've taken up running and I'm already on Week 6 of 8 on Couch to 5K! I've been pushing myself a little too hard though. My Cousin talked me into signing up for a 1/2 marathon. (crazy I know) So I've been adding in extra miles and training. I did 10 miles total last week and on Saturday I hurt my knee on my 5Miles run/walk! So I have to rest this week. It's been very hard to rest when I'm so motivated, but rest now and back to it when it's better! I'm not giving up!

Okay back to crochet! In February I did a scarf swap hosted by the wonderful Danyel of CrazySocks Crochet! (Love her patterns) I got a lovely Scarf from none other than my crochet buddy Rachel of Silly Stitches that lives just a few miles away! She made me this lovely Moroccan Cowl in wonderful pastels with absolutely yummy yarn! The pattern is by Moogly! (I recently made one too!) It's perfect for spring especially since winter isn't giving up! You can find the free pattern on The Moogly Blog!

I made a Fun scarf for my swap from a pattern on Fiber Flux with one of my favorite yarns! Amazing yarn! I changed it up a little only because I had only one skien. I wished I'd got a better picture but I had to get in in the mail since I kinda waited till the last minute! (I almost forgot. oops!) I hope she loved it! The pattern is a free pattern called the Arugula Scarf. It's a simple ruffle scarf! Works up very fast!

Since I've had to rest and I'm waiting on some yarn to come in I've had a little time to work on a few fun projects! I made on of my favorite ruffle scarf patterns using Red Heart Boutique Magical! The colors are fun and I just love this yarn and how it changes up on it's own.

I just finished this other fun project. I've had this on my todo list forever!  The Artfully Simple Cowl by Moogly! I used Amazing yarn in Glacier Bay! The colors are gorgeous jewel tones! It can be worn long or wrapped twice. I would totally make this again! I'm in love with it!. Isn't it gorgeous!

With having to rest more this week I do have a new design I need to finish. It's for St. Patricks Day so I'm kind slacking but I will try to have it up early next week! (fingers crossed)

Current Projects, Testings, & Sale

With Fall/Winter approaching my minds is whirling with new pattern ideas! I need to get to work on them but I've been a little busy making some fun new orders and taking a few opportunities to test some patterns by some other amazing designers! I thought I should share those with you so you can check out these fun patterns to!

This first test pattern I made a few week ago so I'm a little delayed in showing it to you! This is the Boat Neck Betty Tee by Salena Baca of Baca Creations. I tested the 4-5 size! I really liked the pattern and she offers it in a variety of sizes from 1 year up to Women's sizes. It's a great top for all season and perfect for layering. I love the simple flower detail. I used Caron Simply Soft (not my favorite yarn) but it's light weight. I used Padgoda and Bright Red and it's kinda looks Christmasy even thought that is a Teal Blue LOL. It's still fun.

The 2nd Test Pattern got the opportunity to help with is the Galilee Slippers by Tara Murray of Mamachee. She has wonderful patterns. I already have several of hers. This one was fun and there are so many fun color combos you can do with these. She already had a pattern for smaller sizes but this pattern is for children -Women's sizes. I have tiny feet so I tested the 5-6 size. I love them. I was going for a fall color way but my friend Rachel S. said they reminder her of corn on the cob. LOL! I'll never look at them the same again! I'm going to make other colors next time.

This latest project wasn't a test but an order for two adorable princess loveys! This pattern is by BowTykes and I love it. She recently updated it to include options for a princess leia (I must make this next), fairies and of course other fun princesses. The possibilities are endless.  These are just two custom lovey's for two sisters! I hope they enjoy them (because my daughter tried to steal them, she already has one)! haha!  I'm going to work up the others princess as I have time!

Lots of fun project lately and always more to come!

Little Purse Project

So one of my goals is to use some of the skeins of yarn I've bought just because and never used.
I have a lot of those though so we'll see how many projects I can get done haha!

I actually got this yarn for free! When Caron 1st introduced there Spa and Country yarn lines (now discontinued) they mailed out a free skien if you signed up. I ended up buying a few more and did use them but still have two of this color. I don't know the name because no wrapper but it's a unique soft melon/peachy/pink color.

The yarn is a 3 weight and very soft. I though it would make a great purse! When I was in high school I remember having a couple of purses "the sak" I loved them and I think they still make them They are crochet purses. This kinda what I drew inspiration from and what the finished project reminds me of.

There is no pattern for this I just winged it and let the hook do the walking! I wished I'd done more of a rounder bottom but that's okay. Would you believe me the queen of "I Love my 10mm N hook" used a D hook to make this! I wanted super tight stitches so I wouldn't have to line it. I still may though.

I decided it needed a flap. I also put the yarn inside so I could see how much would fit inside.
It's bigger than my ipad mini. I can carry that, my phone, and a small wallet so it's just the perfect small purse size for me.

This is the finished project!

I really like the way it turned out! It took me about a week off an on since I was creating as I went and that tiny hook! The texture and look of it are great! I have a feeling my 4 year old Calleigh will steal it though. Its just her size!
