Free Crochet Pattern : Apple Headpiece

Last year I designed a Decorative Pumpkin Headpiece for small dogs, cats or your favorite stuffed animal. My kids like to play with these on their Stuffed Animals too. With school back in session I thought making a few simple changes to the pattern that I could easily turn it into an apple.
I made a red and green one. Green apples are my sons favorite.

I can't say my puppy enjoyed dressing up too much. She doesn't mind sweaters or collars but she's not a fan of hats. I kindly asked my mom of Posh Pooch Designs if she'd like to test and have her real dog models try it out. You can see those images below. Be sure to check out all her amazing designs too. Especially if you have a dog that enjoy's accessories.

Now on to the pattern!
Apple Headpiece Modeled my sweet Chihuahua Lucy!

Be sure to add this to your Ravelry
favorites for later!

Giveaway : Cabled Button Hat and Mitts

Recently a friend of mine made an amazingly adorable hat and shared it in our Facebook group! Many people asked about the design which she freehanded. Many hoped she would design it but she'd never written a pattern before. With encouragement, she decided to give it a whirl! I'm so glad she did! It's a great design that I had the privilege to test!
It's seriously my new favorite hat! I know that you will love it too!

It is an intermediate pattern, but not to difficult. I love the way she explains how to work the cables and she's given me a new love for reverse single crochet. (we kinda had a love hate relationship but I think I have it down now) The construction of the hat is great! If you love slouchy hats (which seem to be the popular style this season) then you will really like this hat! The cabling on the brim make it thicker, so it's warm and cozy.

Add some personal flare by adding a big button or 2-3 small buttons. I've even seen few make the brim one color and the hat body another or variegated! So many options! This makes the perfect gifts by pairing it with the matching fingerless gloves!

Here are my samples:

Made this one with impeccable, I can't remember the name but it's black with jewel tones metallic thread. It's really pretty in person. The button is black with glittery sparkles too!

It's my new favorite!!

Wanted to make another because I loved the pattern so much! Chose a more neutral tone and a soft yarn. My new favorite Lion Brand Heartand. It's a cream heather.

I wanted to make matching gloves with the Heartland but I ran out on the 1st glove so I told my hubby to pick a color. He said purple. I found a skien of Bernat Sheepish in Plumish. Gorgeous color!! I added a winter touch of sparkly snowflake buttons.

So let's get to that giveaway!
Rachel of Silly Stitches has graciously allowed me to offer you a chance to win both crochet patterns and offer a 30% discount on the pattern today only (Monday) in Raverly!!

Current Projects, Testings, & Sale

With Fall/Winter approaching my minds is whirling with new pattern ideas! I need to get to work on them but I've been a little busy making some fun new orders and taking a few opportunities to test some patterns by some other amazing designers! I thought I should share those with you so you can check out these fun patterns to!

This first test pattern I made a few week ago so I'm a little delayed in showing it to you! This is the Boat Neck Betty Tee by Salena Baca of Baca Creations. I tested the 4-5 size! I really liked the pattern and she offers it in a variety of sizes from 1 year up to Women's sizes. It's a great top for all season and perfect for layering. I love the simple flower detail. I used Caron Simply Soft (not my favorite yarn) but it's light weight. I used Padgoda and Bright Red and it's kinda looks Christmasy even thought that is a Teal Blue LOL. It's still fun.

The 2nd Test Pattern got the opportunity to help with is the Galilee Slippers by Tara Murray of Mamachee. She has wonderful patterns. I already have several of hers. This one was fun and there are so many fun color combos you can do with these. She already had a pattern for smaller sizes but this pattern is for children -Women's sizes. I have tiny feet so I tested the 5-6 size. I love them. I was going for a fall color way but my friend Rachel S. said they reminder her of corn on the cob. LOL! I'll never look at them the same again! I'm going to make other colors next time.

This latest project wasn't a test but an order for two adorable princess loveys! This pattern is by BowTykes and I love it. She recently updated it to include options for a princess leia (I must make this next), fairies and of course other fun princesses. The possibilities are endless.  These are just two custom lovey's for two sisters! I hope they enjoy them (because my daughter tried to steal them, she already has one)! haha!  I'm going to work up the others princess as I have time!

Lots of fun project lately and always more to come!

Kitchen Cotton Creations

Right before our big move I purchased a large ball of cotton yarn on a whim with a 50% coupon at Joann's. It was Bernats Handicrafter cotton. I hadn't used it before but I really like this cotton. I usually only used Lily's Sugar and Cream but it's not my favorite to work with. I wanted to make some new dishcloths and other items for my new kitchen. I found some really fun projects and I'm going to share them with links to the free patterns I used.

Here is everything I made.
5 dishcloths -3 different varieties, a pot holder, a towel holder and a loverly center piece.

Really simple pattern, quick and easy!

Towel holder  I kinda made on my own but I was inspired from this pattern

I love this dishcloth. It has a great texture and works up really nicely!

This one was really textured with post stitches but I can't for the life of me find the pattern I used...ack!
Sorry! I will post it when I find it.

These three dish clothes were just made with sc stitches in rows. Nothing special, Just used up the rest of what I had left.

Last but not least! I've not done any pineapple patterns but when I saw this I knew I had to make it.  This one turned out gorgeous. It was supposed to be a placemat but it was really big so I decided it was a perfect center piece for my tiny table. I think these would be gorgeous in any colors. Might even remake it with thicker yarn and bigger hook for a pretty rug for my new crafty loft

What kind of kitchen creations have you made?
