Poppy Nubbin' Washcloth Crochet Pattern

I really love cotton washcloths! I was in need of some new bathroom ones so I went to my stash to see what I had and here is what I came up with! A unique textured washcloth with a few different looks.

Nubbin’ Washcloth

My color choices were inspired by a theme I have in my master bath and bedroom. I love poppy's and the colors in this pic inspired me to use orange, green and cream. I thinking now I wish I added some yellow too but I just used what I had.

What you'll need

H-hook (5.00mm)
Lily's Sugar N Cream  I just used my scraps but I made all these 5 with about 3-4 of the smaller balls that you can find in most craft stores.

Measures approx 9 x 9 inches, gauge isn't essential.

NOTES:

**Need Help with the stitch pattern? See video below the pattern!
** See 4 unique ways to make this Washcloth below the pattern before you start.

Row 1: ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, *pull up a loop in same st as last st made and in next 2 sts, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook, ch 1 (NOTE: work ch 1’s loosely through out the pattern as you’ll be working into it on the next round), repeat from * across, sc in last st, ch 1 turn

Row 2: sc in 1st st, *pull up a loop in same st as last st made and in next 2 sts, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook, ch 1 (NOTE: work ch 1’s loosely through out the pattern as you’ll be working into it on the next round), repeat from * across, sc in last st,, ch 1 turn

Rows 3-24: Rep Row 2

Edging: sc in each st around, be sure to work 2 sc in each corner. Join to 1st sc with sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Here are a few different ways I used this pattern for some unique looks.

1st is a basic solid color

2nd Change yarn colors every 2 rows.
This is will give you two different looks. One on each side of the washcloth

This is the front

This is the back

3rd Change yarn every other row for a unique texture
Must use 3 or more colors.
This is my favorite one! I just love the unique look.

4th  Change yarn every 8 rows using 3 colors.
This is will give you big bulky strips

I hope you enjoy making some new washcloths!

Be sure to pin these or add to your
 Ravelry Favorites for later!

Winter Slipper Snow Booties - Pattern Review

I love when I get to make something new and try out other patterns. I came across this designer that has some adorable designs for boys called One Paisley Pig
She has lots of great sets so check them out.

I had received a few orders to make these darling

I picked up all the sizes newborn to Adult sizes because I needed the two size patterns so why not add in the larger size too! Plus it's cheaper if you bundle them together!
I might have to make me a pair to keep my toes warm when we visit Colorado for Christmas!
They got lots of snow the past few days where my parents live.

I have to say the pattern was written well. These worked up perfect to the measurements. There are a few picture helps to guide you through some steps. I love that there are stitch counts at the ends of the rows/rounds. Thats important to me on booties as I need to make sure I get two perfectly the same. I used to have bootie making phobia! I love to make them now.
They're so cute and tiny!

When I did have a few questions the designer got right back to me. I know that is something I work really hard at and it's important to me. The hardest part was finding the D-rings so I asked her if she had any suggestions. She orders off Ebay.  None of my normal hobby shops had them in store, but I thankfully not only found some on Amazon. I got a good deal, in bulk, and they shipped to me with in two days (no I'm not a prime member) I just made sure they were shipping from within the USA. I ended up getting 100 for 7.99 shipped this was the 1/2 inch size.

Anywhoo! Here are the three pairs I've made so far! I look forward to making more!

If your crochet check out the pattern in ravelry from One Paisley Pig
Don't crochet? I'm happy to make you a pair. Here is the listing to purchase in Etsy!

Orbital Poncho Crochet Pattern

It's been a while since I designed something new. I wanted to think outside my normal box and broaden my design skills.

Poncho's seem really popular this year and so does fringe accents. I'd never made one but I wanted it to feel modern and trendy.  I came up with what I'm calling the Orbital Poncho.
The name comes from the Orb shaped stitches used in the pattern.

This poncho is a one size fits most and I think pretty easy to make longer if you wanted too. I love how quickly it works up, plus it doesn't use too much yarn! It's made in all one piece so there is no joining or sewing pieces together.

This is wonderful for anytime of the year too! It's a perfect layering piece.
It's also one of my new favorite items to wear!

The poncho is open on the sides, so I like to wear it belted. You could also easily sew down the side seams for a more shirt/pullover type piece too! I hope you'll enjoy this new pattern!
What color will you make it? I can't wait to see!
