Crochet Pattern - Peek-A-Boo Britches Set

I'm so very excited about my newest pattern release! The Peek-A-Boo Britches Set

This pattern has long been coming! One of my fabulous testers (Jennifer N.) came to me with an idea for a pattern back in May...yeah May! It got set aside after a big move and busy summer and I thought it would be a perfect pattern for fall.

I know that you all will love the pattern but will also notice the pattern is slightly different than my regular style with Jennifer's special touches and ideas added into it!

The pants feature and actual working drop seat, no jogging seams in those pant legs. You'll learn some simple technics you might have not tried before. It is ranked intermediate because of the post stitches but you can do it!!

The hat is a simple dc beanie with an optional pocket square for embellishment.

I think these would work great for christmas! Maybe Santa's long underwear :) LOL!

I can't wait to see what you make! You can read more details in Ravelry

This new pattern is on Sale in Raverly
Sept 23rd - Sept 25th at Midnight Central

Use coupon code at checkout to get the pattern for $3.95 (reg. $5.95)

Amazing Yarn Creations

No seriously "Amazing!" I had two patterns catch my eyes recently and Hobby Lobby just happened to mark down and clearance out all their Lion Brand "Amazing" Yarn. It's gorgeous and I've loved everything I've made with it. Here is what I made with my yarny goodness the past few days.

I loooooove this shawl pattern from A La Sascha! It's called the Stairs Shawl. I'd already been looking at some similar knit patterns and was thinking of designing a crochet version but why now when there is this amazing one that I can't wait to make again!  It worked up great and is really easy to customize up or down in size if desired, it's light and airy and a perfect fall accessory. I can't wait for the weather to cool down!  You can read more details on this project in ravelry!

This next project was a pattern test for one of my most favorite, inspiring designers
Speckled Frog Crochet.
I have most her patterns and they never fail to amaze me! Lots of great textures and unique designs that crocheters of all levels will love. If your board with basic stitches you won't be with her patterns!
She just released this tonight! The Brighton Newsboy Cap

I used the Regatta Colorway. It's very unique. One of my pattern testers said it looked fierce, in a good way and that it reminded her of all the elements and I have to agree! I love that every time you use the yarn  that every hat will be different because of the color changes.

These are my amazing works for the past few days! What have you or would you make with Amazing yarn? I have another color way left and might make up more newsboy caps!

Current Projects, Testings, & Sale

With Fall/Winter approaching my minds is whirling with new pattern ideas! I need to get to work on them but I've been a little busy making some fun new orders and taking a few opportunities to test some patterns by some other amazing designers! I thought I should share those with you so you can check out these fun patterns to!

This first test pattern I made a few week ago so I'm a little delayed in showing it to you! This is the Boat Neck Betty Tee by Salena Baca of Baca Creations. I tested the 4-5 size! I really liked the pattern and she offers it in a variety of sizes from 1 year up to Women's sizes. It's a great top for all season and perfect for layering. I love the simple flower detail. I used Caron Simply Soft (not my favorite yarn) but it's light weight. I used Padgoda and Bright Red and it's kinda looks Christmasy even thought that is a Teal Blue LOL. It's still fun.

The 2nd Test Pattern got the opportunity to help with is the Galilee Slippers by Tara Murray of Mamachee. She has wonderful patterns. I already have several of hers. This one was fun and there are so many fun color combos you can do with these. She already had a pattern for smaller sizes but this pattern is for children -Women's sizes. I have tiny feet so I tested the 5-6 size. I love them. I was going for a fall color way but my friend Rachel S. said they reminder her of corn on the cob. LOL! I'll never look at them the same again! I'm going to make other colors next time.

This latest project wasn't a test but an order for two adorable princess loveys! This pattern is by BowTykes and I love it. She recently updated it to include options for a princess leia (I must make this next), fairies and of course other fun princesses. The possibilities are endless.  These are just two custom lovey's for two sisters! I hope they enjoy them (because my daughter tried to steal them, she already has one)! haha!  I'm going to work up the others princess as I have time!

Lots of fun project lately and always more to come!

Exciting News & A Special Free Pattern

Last November I got a unique email! The Hobby Lobby Needle-arts Department contacted me to see if I was interested in joining the team as a freelancer. I'm lucky enough to live in OKC home of their very large headquarters. In joining the team I test patterns and sometimes I get opportunities to submit a design. I've only submitted a few times because unfortunately once you submit if it gets selected than Hobby Lobby owns the rights to it and I get no credit. I've really enjoyed testing and it's a great freelance opportunity. I really enjoy it!

When you submit a design you generally are submitting with a few others and then they go through a process of selection. I would never know if the pattern was actually picked or filed away for later use.

Yesterday I was doing some yarn shopping for an order and to my surprise I noticed new tear-away free patterns out!

I squealed with excitement when I saw this one! I wrote this one!!!
It's for a Textured Cowl made with their Yarn Bee First Love Yarn!
So If you want a new free pattern from me you can find it in
Hobby Lobby Stores or on the website here.

So I'm excited if you can't tell and even if my names not on it it's still a big accomplishment to me to have a pattern I wrote chosen. You can find other projects & inspirations on their website

This isn't endorsed by Hobby Lobby in any way. Just my thoughts :)

Enjoy!

Thursday Finds - Yarn & Hooks

Today I had some yarn shopping to do.  I love custom orders because that means I get to go pick out or work with new yarns & colors! It's hard to believe I didn't have some of this in my stash already!

Michael's had their Vanna's Choice Worsted 2 for $5 so I took the opportunity to get some new colors I don't have already! I love Vanna's and use it a lot! I was inspired by all the fall halloween colors so I picked up Eggplant, Olive and Rust. The Raspberry was just pretty so I got it too! I have some plans for these in a new pattern I'm working on. You are going to looove it!

If you know me I love chunky yarns! Got to pick up some Cozy Wool and Country Loom by Loops and Threads from Michael's for a Baby Hammock and Hooded Coocon Props. I also get to make one of my favorites My Hooded Capelt with some yarn from Hobby Lobby!

If you saw my post on my Owl Ami you'll remeber me talking about needing a good C hook! My tiny steel one just wasn't working for me! So I picked up a much raved about Clover with my coupon of course! I've not previously purchased or used one of these hooks yet so I'm anxtious to try it out! I have a teeny tiny owl to finish so maybe I'll get to play this weekend.

The funny thing is I'm going to be working with my Q Hook today! It's always weird to switch from working with a really big hook to a tiny hook! I'll always vote for bigger hooks!

Hope you enjoyed my Thursday Yarn finds! Did you pick up anything new this week? Have any fun projects your working on? Feel free to share in the commnets below!

Be on the look out tomorrow! I'll have a Freebie Friday Pattern! It's easy peasy and great for girls of all ages baby to Women! See you later! ~Elisabeth

Tiny-A-Long : Owl Ami

Meet my adorable Owl Ami! Isn't he cute!! I love him so much!

Freshstitches is hosting a Tiny-a-long.  A crochet along where you are challenged to use yarn smaller than worsted weight and smaller hook to go with it.

I knew exactly what yarn I was going to use. I recently picked up Lion Brand BonBons because of the tiny skeins and the cute colors all in one tiny package! I had no plans for it so why not use tiny skeins for a tiny along. The yarn is a 2 weight and cotton. It's so soft and was really great to work with.

I use a C hook 2.75 mm. I need to get a good hook. I just used a steel hook with a little slide on gripper to help me not hate that hook. I don't usually use hooks that small. I love my Tupil Emito hooks but I've heard marvelous things about the clover hooks so I think I'll pick one up next time I'm out yarn shopping.

Since these are tiny skeins of yarn I had to get creative and plan out a colorful owl! I think he turned out great! So soft and huggable!

The hardest part of the owl was getting those silly eyes in and fastened. After lots work I got it but,  then I remembered, (after I sewed everything down) that my friend from Niccup Crochet had already blogged tips for this. (remember this next time!!)

He fits nicely in my hand and that is to help show you his size. I was going to measure him but my kids have claimed him and he's currently being loved....(and fought over.... I need to make another)

I'm actually working up an even smaller one. I'm just adjusting the pattern instead of smaller hook!
Its a halloween themed one and she is turning out spooky fun! I'll share when she's done of course!

There is still time to join in the tiny-a-long. If you like this pattern it's one of Freshstiches best sellers and I'm sure you can see why! Check out Nelson The Owl Pattern. If you love Ami crochet than you will love her blog!!
