Sunrise Market Tote

I was shopping for yarn with my mom while she was visiting for spring break! It's one of our favorite things to do! I hadn't shopped for yarn in a while since I put myself on a yarn freeze until I use up some of my stash......but I made an exception of course.

 Hobby Lobby has a few colorways of what they call "Print" yarn. It's variegated but it flows better than most variegated I have worked with and I usually love the results of it so much more.
I saw a new color way called Sunrise Sky. I was drawn to it because well it reminded me OKC Thunder Colors! It's is March Madness after all. Basketball is on my mind.
I just love the combination of Orange and Blue.

I didn't know what I was going to make with it, but I was going to make use of it right away.
I really wanted to design something other than a hat or scarf since it's spring.
When I think spring I think farmers markets so I decided to make a big ole bag!
The stitch pattern is fun and it works up fairly quickly once you get the hang of it.

I really love the way it turned out! Now time to go shopping or maybe just fill it with yarn as a project bag! Since I do have several projects I need to finish.

Little Purse Project

So one of my goals is to use some of the skeins of yarn I've bought just because and never used.
I have a lot of those though so we'll see how many projects I can get done haha!

I actually got this yarn for free! When Caron 1st introduced there Spa and Country yarn lines (now discontinued) they mailed out a free skien if you signed up. I ended up buying a few more and did use them but still have two of this color. I don't know the name because no wrapper but it's a unique soft melon/peachy/pink color.

The yarn is a 3 weight and very soft. I though it would make a great purse! When I was in high school I remember having a couple of purses "the sak" I loved them and I think they still make them They are crochet purses. This kinda what I drew inspiration from and what the finished project reminds me of.

There is no pattern for this I just winged it and let the hook do the walking! I wished I'd done more of a rounder bottom but that's okay. Would you believe me the queen of "I Love my 10mm N hook" used a D hook to make this! I wanted super tight stitches so I wouldn't have to line it. I still may though.

I decided it needed a flap. I also put the yarn inside so I could see how much would fit inside.
It's bigger than my ipad mini. I can carry that, my phone, and a small wallet so it's just the perfect small purse size for me.

This is the finished project!

I really like the way it turned out! It took me about a week off an on since I was creating as I went and that tiny hook! The texture and look of it are great! I have a feeling my 4 year old Calleigh will steal it though. Its just her size!

Free Pattern - Iphone/Ipod Purse

Iphone/Ipod purse
I love this design and the texture stitches {I think} looks like houndstooth!

Be sure to add this to your Ravelry Favorites!

Materials: ww(4) yarn ( I used I Love This Acrylic or Cotton from Hobby Lobby)
I hook- {5.5 mm}
Color (A) Black ; Color (B) White

Stitches used:
(ch)chain
(sl st) slip stitch
(sc) single crochet
(hdc) Half double crochet

Note : chain stitch doesn’t count in stitch count

With (A) Ch 9

Rd 1 - hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to last, hdc 3 times in last ch, continue to hdc on opposite side of ch to last hdc, hdc 2 time in last ch, join with sl st to 1st hdc, ch 2

Rd 2 - hdc in each hdc around, join with st st to first hdc, turn (20)
Change to (B) This row will start the texturing. Don’t do the sl st’s to tight. Loosen up a little if you crochet tight like me :)

{don’t forget to turn! We’re going the other direction now. Also don’t crochet in the joining stitches when you turn. This will keep your stitches lined up and you won’t end up with extra stitches ; ) I would count every row or you can easily get off count}

Rd 3 - *(hdc in 1st hdc, sl st in the next) repeat around, join with sl st to first hdc, turn Change to (A)

Rd 4 - ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st , turn (change to {b})

Rd 5 -20 - Repeat rows 3 &4 When you complete row 20 don’t turn!

Rd 21 - ch 2, hdc in each sc around , join with sl st, ch 1

Rd 22 - sc in first hdc, ch 8 , sk 6 sts, sc 4 , ch 8, sk 6 , sc 3 , join with sl st to first sc, ch 1

Rd 23- sc in each st and ch around , join with sl st , ch 1 Rd 24 - sc in each sc , join with sl st, fasten off and weave in ends.

You don’t have to change colors. You can do this solid too! Just ignore the color changes. You could make a flap on the top and add a button to make a closure, You could chain more and make the handle longer! Put your own twist on it! I’d love to see your creations. Feel free to email me anytime!

Enjoy!!!

Petitie Purses- Granny Stitch Style

I found the cutest little purse pattern. It whips up in a short amount of time and could be made with scrap yarn. The original design is called the Granny Boutique Purse and you can find the "free" pattern here on Tangled Happy's Blog. {She has several other super cute easy patterns too!}

The colors of this one are inspired by my logo colors!
I made this with cotton yarn by Sugar N' Cream

This one is Red Sparkle acrylic. I never get red to photograph well but it's a super cute purse in person.
Calleigh's loves these and has already been carrying them around and putting her favorite thing inside.

These would make a perfect gift for any girl!

Cupcake Purse/Wristlet

I just had to make a cupcake purse! This is my own creation and I just know your little girls will love it. Not only is it a great purse! It makes a great gift bag!

It measures 5 in wide x 6 in deep.

This delicious cake is chocolate on the bottom with lots of buttercream icing and sprinkles on top. Garnished with hot pink cherries :)

Has a drawstring closer that when tied forms to small loops to hold. The small cherries on the end keep those straps securely in place.

I think this would make a great birthday present and better yet great gift bag for  small surprises like clips and bows ;) Ask me about cupcake bows and hat! These can be purchased through my artfire storefront or email me at calleighclips@att.net.

I've been considering writing out this pattern but not completely decided. It would be my first so we'll just wait to see when I find extra time :) Enjoy!
