Pattern Feature - Sparkles the Unicorn Cowl

My awesome crochet buddy Rachel over at Silly Stitches just released a magical cowl pattern.

photo used with permission from Silly Stitches
I had the honor of testing it for her.
I'm on a yarn freeze so I had to get creative with what I had on hand.
So my colors aren't as perfect but I still love the way it turned out!

I love working with bulky yarn and large hooks. It's a very simple pattern to follow!
I think it would make a perfect halloween costume if it's going to be cold where you are!
It's cozy, warm and fun!
If the girls in your life are as obsessed with anything pony like my 6 year old the possibilities for color combinations are endless!

My little Calleigh is so petite that I should have made her the toddler size, but it fit my 6 year old boy perfectly!! The bow on mine is huge but we adjusted that down for the pattern,
but I love that it's big and whimsical! She loved it and we had fun taking pics!

Rachel is offering 25% off all her single patterns in
  Ravelry
(e-books and sets not included)

Use the code  - magic at checkout
Coupon good Wed Oct 29th- Sat Oct 31st (ends midnight central)

Be sure to check out her other two latest patterns

OH and remember - Have a great day and be silly!

Free Crochet Pattern : Decorative Pumpkin Headpiece for Small Cats, Dogs or Stuffed Toys

Last week I got a fun custom order for some cat hats! Yes cat hats! Call me crazy but I like a challenge! Usually I leave the animal design to my awesome, super talented mom over at Posh Pooch Designs but this person found me first through my devil headband and cape set on Etsy and wanted something similar for her cat.  She gave me some measurements and I went from there freestyle. I made her a devil and unicorn headpiece. Aren't they so silly, but so cute!
I'm allergic to cats so my kids shared their stuffed babies to model them for you. LOL!

I thought this simple design would be fun to share with you since it can be used for small cats, dogs or as I will use them, for extra accessories for my kids stuffed animals! (they have way to many)

I decided since it's just about fall that a pumpkin headpiece would be just right!
I may design a few more seasonally but we'll see.

I hope you enjoy the pattern!

Fall Festivities

Last week was a busy week around my house! We had lots of fun activities planned. We went trick or treating at the Harn Homestead. They have candy, games, face painting, a bonfire with marshmallows and hayrides. The kids just love it all!

My little cowboy and purple kitty!
Calleigh's Kitty face ready for that candy!

Friday we took the kids to Chesters Party Barn- the Pumpkin Patch where the kiddos walked through the petting zoo, feed the animals had pony rides, corn maze and got to pick out a pumpkin.

Ayden had fun helping Daddy with his Mr. Pumpkin Head

Friday night is our family night with Gee-Gee, Pops and all my husbands side of the family whom I love dearly. I couldn't have married into a better family!  We attempted some fun fall pictures with the five cousins but if you can imagine getting 5 kids under five to take a picture is quiet a challenge :)

Hope you enjoy a few pictures! It was hard to choose just a few !

Goblin Crochet Creation

I was recently asked to do a very different custom order. It was a crochet goblin hat for a cute little boy to wear for Halloween. I get nervous working outside my patterns but I was pretty proud that I came up with this after a few trial and errors :) She supplied a few pictures and it was up to me to do the rest. I wasn't really sure how I was going to get the ears to stand up but after shaping and tacking it down in just right places I got it.

Here is the little cutie in the hat! I just love it! Thank you to Maria for supplying us with a photo!
