I was crocheting away at my orders last night when my sweet 3 year old Calleigh brought me her Bitty Baby that Oma Got her for christmas, and asked me kindly to make her a pink hat with curls. I couldn't resist the fun idea and I knew it would work up in a matter of minutes. (15- 20 to be exact!)
So here is a super quick project that you can make for your daughters bitty baby doll (American Girl) or it also works as a Preemie hat for about a 4-5lb baby.

I can't get the numbers to match yours. In round 3 I end up with 24. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am using a chunky weight instead of using 2 strands.

I'm trying to make a hat hat will fit a dolls head size.
ReplyDeleteHI Cat24- On round 3 make sure you are doing (2dc, then 1 dc in the next) sounds like you are doing 2 dc in each when it should only be 2 dc in every other stitch around. This is designed for the bitty baby specifically. So if it's for another doll it may not fit and you make need to make adjustments. This doll is about 12 inches around.
